    AIG assures Sokoto residents of security

    As for the 2022 Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Assistant Inspector General of Sokoto Zone 10 Headquarters, AIG Bello Dalijan, has assured residents that in compliance with the order and directives of the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Usman. Area of ​​ongoing efforts to prevent crime and criminality and improve public security in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

    The AIG also asked the zonal police commissioners and tactical commanders to step up security during the Christmas and New Year celebrations to avoid any untoward situation in their areas of responsibility during and beyond Christmas.

    The AIG urged and recommended that the supervising CPs in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states with their area commanders should ensure proper deployment of officers and assets to prevent crime as well as build public confidence.

    The police chief charged them with conducting critical assessment of threat-prone areas, extensive stop and search, black spot raids and other anti-crime strategies capable of maintaining peace and public safety in the area.

    The AIG also warned that deployed personnel should be professional and considerate of the basic human rights of citizens, and should perform their duties with full decorum and vigilance.

    AIG Dalijan also used the opportunity to advise politicians in the area to play by the rules and ensure peaceful election campaigns, while advising parents not to use their children as political thugs in the upcoming elections.

    He assured the general public that the Nigerian Police under the leadership of the IGP had put in place all security mechanisms to ensure the peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.

    AIG Zone 10, while congratulating the Christian faithful in the region and the country at large, enjoined them to celebrate and enjoy the beauty of the Christmas season while remaining safety conscious.

    He also asked them to report any suspicious persons, movements or activities to the police for immediate intervention as he advised them to cooperate with police men and other security agencies to man the strategic places for Christmas/New Year celebrations. zone
