No fewer than 23 people were reported to have fallen during the Permanent Voter Card walk demonstration organized by the Tinubu/Shettima campaign support group in the North-West in Kano State on Sunday among the crowd that created the blockade.
The one million man march in Kano on Sunday started from the Emir’s palace in the ancient city and culminated at the cenotaph roundabout of the Government House where Governor Abdullahi Ganduje received the support team.
The march featured various performances by power bike riders, horse riders, musicians, men and women dressed in different costumes representing the political party.
First responders and security officers were busy ensuring the safety of attendees and managing traffic that brought most parts of the city to a standstill.
Addressing newsmen at the event, Group Director Bappa Babba-Danagundi expressed excitement that the rally was a success, describing Tinubu’s candidacy as a done deal in Kano.
“I thank the Almighty God for making this event successful because of how the people have accepted and responded to our mobilization activities for the success of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2023 general election.
“Clearly the Tinubu presidency in Kano is a done deal,” he stated.
